At 12:14 PM West Mead 1 was dispatched to assist West Mead #2 Volunteer Fire Department for a working vehicle fire on Hobbs Road with an exposure of an unattached garage. Meadville Firefighters IAFF Local 515 and East Mead Vol. Fire Dept 9 were also dispatched to assist, and Vernon Central Hose was requested to provide a fire standby crew. When Meadville Engine 16-2 arrived, the crew began a quick knockdown on the vehicle fire, preventing it from spreading to the garage. Responding apparatus from West Mead included Engines 29-1, 28-13, 28-12, and Truck 29-9. East Mead’s Engine 9-81 and Tanker 9-85 supplied water and manpower, while Meadville’s Ambulance 16-17 provided EMS standby and manpower.
A great stop by the first-arriving engine crew from Meadville! Thanks to all on scene for working together to prevent further damage and loss.
All 28 units returned to service by 2:05 pm.
