Structure fire calls, including assists to mutual aid departments
Barn Fire on Lake Creek Road
On Wednesday West Mead 1 was tapped for a fourth incident, sending 28-12 and 28-13 to Cochranton to assist with a barn fire near Sugar Lake.
Baldwin Street Duplex Fire
West Mead 1 responded with other volunteer fire companies as part of a second alarm to assist Meadville Central with a working house fire on Baldwin Street.
Market St House Fire
On Friday night West Mead 1 assisted Meadville Central with a working house fire on Market St, along with other area volunteer fire companies.
Tree Down, Garage Fire, and Fire Alarm
On a busy Tuesday morning West Mead 1 firefighters responded to a series of calls involving a tree down, a mutual aid garage fire, and a fire alarm.
Star Route Garage Fire
At 6:02 PM West Mead 2 and 1 were dispatched with Meadville Ambulance and Saegertown for a structure fire in an attached garage on Star Route.
Trailer Fire on Sugar Creek Lane
At 4:54 PM West Mead 1 was dispatched for a full assist to Cochranton for a working trailer fire on Sugar Creek Lane.
Park Street Basement Fire
Just before 6:00 pm Sunday, West Mead 1 was dispatched with West Mead #2 and Meadville Ambulance for a residential basement fire on Park Street.
Liberty St Basement Fire
At 7:43 pm Thursday West Mead 1 was dispatched for a structure fire on Liberty St less than a mile from our station. Due to fire conditions in the basement, a second alarm was requested.
Highland Ave Duplex Fire, Assist to Meadville Central
At 3:38 AM West Mead #1 was dispatched with Vernon Central and Saegertown to assist Meadville Central with a structure fire on Highland Avenue. Engines 28-13 and 28-12 responded to the scene, a two-story wood-frame residential duplex, where crews from Meadville Central and West Mead 2 were already at work extinguishing the fire that began on the porch and spread into the apartment and up the eaves.
Structure Fire Assist to Utica
At 12:11 AM West Mead 1 was dispatched with Cochranton to assist Utica with a structure fire along US 322. Engine 28-12 responded with a full crew to the scene. Department 28 spent the bulk of time on suppression and overhaul on the most damaged building, a post-frame metal garage.
