For the 2nd time today West Mead had engines on the road responding to a structure fire, this time in West Mead Township. Just after 5:00 pm West Mead #1, West Mead #2 Volunteer Fire Department, Meadville Ambulance, Meadville Fire, and Vernon Central Hose were dispatched for a structure fire on Alden Street just around the corner from our Alden Street Station. Initial reports indicated a possible furnace explosion and entrapment.

28-13 arrived on scene, followed by 16-2. Together the departments deployed a line to the basement and began suppression. Additional crews from West Mead and Vernon completed a primary search and extensive ventilation.
