At 9:00 AM, West Mead 1 was dispatched to assist Cochranton with a structure fire on Snake Road in French Creek Township. The initial request for an engine to stand by at Dept 4 was upgraded to a full assist as reports from the scene indicated fire through the roof and on both floors. Engines 28-13 and 28-12 responded to the scene, a two-story wood-frame single family dwelling. Cochranton firefighters had already made an interior attack and knocked down the bulk of the fire. On arrival West Mead 1 crews assisted with salvage and extensive overhaul on both first and second floors.

No injuries to occupants or firefighters were reported. The Red Cross was called to assist three displaced residents.

Other departments on scene included Utica, Sandy Lake, Sheakleyville, Vernon Central, and West Mead 2.

While West Mead 1 was assisting Cochranton, East Mead moved one engine into Alden St station and covered an odor investigation call on Alden St.

West Mead 1 returned to service by 11:22 AM.
