At 11:38 AM West Mead #1 was dispatched with West Mead #2, Vernon Central, and Saegertown to assist Meadville Central with a structure fire on Leslie Road.
High-Rise Pack Training with Meadville Central
West Mead #1 members met up with firefighters on duty at Meadville Central to train on deploying high-rise packs with standpipe systems.
Citizen Training Program with Meadville Central
On November 7 West Mead #1 assisted Meadville Central with a training program for Meadville residents. Children and parents from the city were invited into Meadville Central for several hours to tour the apparatus and get a hands-on demonstration of some of the tools used by firefighters.
Cochranton Road Brush Fire
At 1:32 PM West Mead #1 was dispatched for a brush fire on Cochranton Road (US 322) with exposure of a residence. Engines 28-12 and 28-13 responded to the scene, where the wind spread fire from a burn pile to a yard and a nearby tree.
Halloween Parade 2015
On Saturday evening West Mead #1 took part in the annual Meadville Crawford Area Young Chamber of Commerce (CAYCC) Halloween Parade.
Training with Vernon Township VFD
On October 20 West Mead #1 met up with Vernon Township VFD to train on flowing water to Station 27's Tower 27-9.
Junior Firefighter Camp at Meadville Central
West Mead #1, Meadville Ambulance, and Crawford County Scuba Team assisted Meadville Central with their Junior Firefighter Camp on Saturday.
Fire Safety at Neason Hill Elementary
The two West Mead volunteer fire departments worked together to remind Neason Hill Elementary school students about fire safety.
Joint Training with West Mead #2
West Mead #1 was invited by West Mead #2 for an evening of training on roof ventilation, ladders, and SCBA at their station on Ryan Road. Personnel from both departments were paired up and split into three groups that rotated through three training evolutions.
Ambulance Tour
On September 22 Rescue Chief Jayme Corey offered the members of West Mead #1 a hands-on tour of an ambulance from Meadville Area Ambulance Service.
