Natural Gas Leak on Pettis Road
At 10:45 AM West Mead #1 was dispatched for a medical call on Pettis Road with a possible gas leak. Rescue Chief Jayme Corey and Meadville Ambulance arrived on scene and confirmed the need for an engine company to assist with a natural gas leak in the residence.
Engine Maintenance Work Session
This week for drill West Mead #1 personnel met at Alden Street for a work session including maintenance on Engines 28-12 and 28-11.

2016 Fund Drive Goal is $30,000
The West Mead 1 Volunteer Fire Department kicks off its 2016 fund drive on March 1, and this year’s goal is $30,000. The fire department is seeking donations from its customers, the residents and businesses of its district.
Three-Vehicle Accident on Cochranton Road
At 8:46 AM West Mead #1 was dispatched to assist West Mead Police with traffic control at a motor vehicle accident on Cochranton Road (US 322).
Pre-Plans and Hydraulic Rescue Tools Drill
This week West Mead #1 members reviewed pre-plans for Neason Hill Elementary and practiced with hydraulic rescue tools on a JENGA-style stack.
Portable Pumps Drill
On Tuesday West Mead #1 members trained on establishing water supply using portable pumps along French Creek.
Scuba Team Training with Lake City
On February 6 West Mead #1 sent divers and water rescue technicians with the Crawford County Scuba Team to Corry for training.
