Just before 2:00 AM on Dec 24 West Mead 1 and West Mead #2 Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched with Meadville Ambulance for a reported warehouse fire on Water Street Extension. West Mead 1 engines 28-15 and 28-13 responded, along with West Mead 2’s Tower 29-9 and Engine 29-1 and Meadville Ambulance’s 33-36. Meadville City Police and Pennsylvania State Police also responded to the incident.
 
On his arrival, Chief Terry Shaulis reported a small working fire in the commercial structure. 28-15’s crew pulled a preconnected 1 ¾” handline into the building and extinguished the fire involving several pallets of boxed products. 28-13 set up water supply using a nearby hydrant, while West Mead 2 personnel assisted with securing utilities and completing overhaul.
 
Chief 28 turned the scene over to the Pennsylvania state fire marshal for investigation, and all West Mead 1 units were in service by 6:30 AM.
