Firefighters don’t wait for perfect conditions. When the fitting doesn’t match, you adapt. When plan A falls apart, you fall back on plan B, with plan C in your back pocket. When a full book of PA Lottery scratch-offs shows up on the apparatus by a rack of hose fittings — you run a raffle.

The prize this week is one full book (30) of Pennsylvania Lottery “$500,000 A Year for Life” scratch-off tickets, worth $20 apiece.

Tickets are non-refundable.

Chances are sold online at westmead1.com under Small Games of Chance SGC26040.

Ticket numbers are randomly generated and emailed instantly.

Names and numbers are posted when all tickets sell; the date of the drawing will also be announced, to be broadcast on Facebook Live.

If sales slow or stop, West Mead 1 may cancel the raffle and refund all sales.

All proceeds benefit West Mead firefighters.

Must be 18+ to purchase.

Winner will be contacted for pickup at a West Mead fire station, either on Liberty Street Extension or Ryan Road in Meadville, or at Tamarack Armory on Franklin Pike. The winner(s) may request that the prize be mailed to his or her location in the continental US at no additional cost.

If prize is not claimed after 30 days, the prize becomes property of West Mead District #1 Vol. Fire Company.
