Blower Blowout

Description

When smoke fills a structure, we don’t just wait for it to clear on its own. A positive-pressure ventilation fan, or “blower,” gets set up at the point of entry and pushes a steady stream of clean, fresh air into the building. That incoming air pressurizes the space and pushes the smoke, heat, and combustion byproducts out through an exit opening on the opposite side. Appropriate use can cut search-and-rescue time down dramatically and make conditions safer for crews still working inside. (Clumsy use can create a world of hurt if smoldering embers light up in void spaces, but that’s a topic for another day!)

This raffle works the same way. We’re moving a full book (30) of $500 Blowout scratchers straight to one lucky winner and clearing out a little smoke of our own, the kind that comes from underfunded equipment budgets.

Tickets are non-refundable.

Chances are sold online at westmead1.com under Small Games of Chance SGC26040.

Ticket numbers are randomly generated and emailed instantly.

Names and numbers are posted when all tickets sell; the date of the drawing will also be announced, to be broadcast on Facebook Live.

If sales slow or stop, West Mead 1 may cancel the raffle and refund all sales.

All proceeds benefit West Mead firefighters.

Must be 18+ to purchase.

Winner will be contacted for pickup at a West Mead fire station, either on Liberty Street Extension or Ryan Road in Meadville, or at Tamarack Armory on Franklin Pike. The winner(s) may request that the prize be mailed to his or her location in the continental US at no additional cost.

If prize is not claimed after 30 days, the prize becomes property of West Mead District #1 Vol. Fire Company.
