Prospect Street Fire - 12.27.2010

Shortly before 8:00 a.m. West Mead #1 was alerted along with West Mead #2,

Vernon Central, and Saegertown Fire Departments to assist the City of

Meadville with a working structure fire in a duplex off of Prospect Street

in the city.  West Mead #1 responded with 28-12 and 28-13 along with 11 members.  Once on scene the crews from 12 and 13 went to the roof and attic area to assist

with suppression and overhaul operations. 

Meadville Central had the bulk of the fire extinguished prior to the arrival

of the second alarm companies.  The incident eventually reached a 3rd alarm

for manpower to assist with overhaul.  Crews returned to service after

operating of scene for 2 hours.
